We sat outside in the patio and it was beautiful. The service was excellent, very kind, and the patio was dog friendly. The waiter was very kind, and helpful. The food was delicious and so flavorful. They brought us some tea to end the meal that was really yummy. We will definitely go again!

Walking in the first impression is striking. The ceilings are incredibly high and the lights feel like stars in the sky against the dark ceiling. There is lush rust colored velvet booth-like seating on either side of the doors and a very welcoming bar with multiple screens and marbling that is lit from within. The high chairs in the high top tables are beautiful rich green in contrast to the blues and the rustic orange. We were very warmly greeted by Fatima and seated immediately with thoughtfulness. We knew this was one of the top best restaurants in Minneapolis and it was easy to see why. Service by Sherwan was attentive and prompt -- quiet and graciously smiling. He answered our questions about Sujuk -- a spicy beef sausage we had not tried before. I had the Sujuk eggs Benedict and my friend had the Shashuka. The flavors were outstanding harmony with the bread and the fresh vegetables that accompanied. I also had the Turkish coffee which came out beautifully presented. Everything was plated incredibly well and the price is $13 for the Benedict and $13 for the Shashuka were very reasonable. Lunch and dinner dishes are a little more expensive but based on what we saw: equally rich in flavor and lavishly beautiful. The view from the window was probably the most appreciated especially as the snow started to come down. This was a very wonderful and memorable dining experience.

When we travel we enjoy trying new and different foods. We stopped at Lumi to experience Turkish food for breakfast. I enjoyed my first cup of Turkish Coffee and a Sujuk (Turkish Sausage) and egg skillet. It was delicious. The server was very nice and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. She was able to give descriptions and references to help you make your meal choice. A great overall experience!

I can't believe I waited this long to try out this restaurant! The food here was amazing and full of flavor. I got a Manhattan and the chicken curry. Not very exciting but I figured I'd see how well they did a classic dish and it did not disappoint! I feel like the chicken could be a bit more tender but that's the only critique I had. We also got dolma, it was a bit more oily but it was still really good! Also tried out some of the bread and dip as well. Everything tasted very well done and the waitress was really nice as well. I do like the way they've remodeled the place and the outdoor seating wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be, sitting next to the street but that was when things were starting to quiet down for the evening. You can easily find parking in the ramp next to the restaurant. I definitely recommend this spot!

Lumi is a wonderful and aesthetically pleasing restaurant. At first I was hesitant about eating there because it was normal supper time and only 1 other couple was there eating. I was pleasantly surprised. The waiter was attentive accommodating and answered any questions you could have about the menu. The food was absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to try some more things on the menu in the near future. Would definitely recommend a visit and to take others there.

We ordered off the Turkish menu. I had the mixed kebab which had a lamb chop, steak, and chicken meat. My wife had the Lumi special kebab that was made with chicken. Both entrees were very good. Service was good but a bit slow as he was waiting several tables. I had the old fashioned from the drink menu. It was good but a little small for the $15.00 price. The same goes for the dinner entrees. A little overpriced for what you get.
